Notes: Incorporated Nov. 1894 as Congregation Adath Jeshorim. Previously: 113 E 86, to 1926, when built present synagogue of Byzantine architecture. "Originally known as Gates of Hope, until their consolidation in 1894 with Congregation Agudath Jeshorim. Became known thereafter as the 86th Street Temple. In 1920 the Congregation Bikur Cholim of Lexington Avenue and 72ns Street merged with them.
