Notes: Listed in the Jewish Communal Register (1917-1918) with the address as 87 Attorney Street and the year organized as 1884. According to 1939 WPA Survey, this congregation was originally organized in 1880. In 1886, two congregations of Galician Jews, the "Cong. Mogen Abraham" & "Cong. Anshe Duckle" merged to form the "First Galician Duckler Mogen Abraham, Inc." At that time, the building was a negro church with a cemetery behind it.
The building was therefore remodeled and the bodies removed. Three other congregations later merged into this congregation, including: Chevra Achai Benjamin in 1897, First Dzykower Chevra in 1914, and Cong. First Berberker in 1920.Name: Erste Galizianer Dukler Mugain Abraham, Congregation
