Notes: According to the 1907/1908 American Jewish Year Book, it was formerly known as Degel Machane Ephraim Blazower and located at 332 Rivington Street, New York, NY 10002. It is listed twice in the Jewish Communal Register (1917-1918): once as Congregation Blaziver Chevrah Degel Machnei Ephraim, organized 1893; a second time as Degel Machaneh Ephraim Anshei Bluzivier, organized 1894. In the 1939 WPA Survey, there is a Blazower Chevra Degel Machne Ephraim, aka Society of Blazow, Flag of the Camp of Ephraim, located at 117 Lewis Street, and organized in 1893, that is said to have merged with Bnai Joseph Anshei Rymanow to form Bnai Joseph Degel Machne Ephraim in 1926. There is also a Congregation Bnai Joseph Anshei Rymanow, aka Sons of Joseph, People of Rymanow, organized from 1900 to 1926 and located at 435 East Houston Street that is said to have merged with the Blazower Chevra Degel Machne Ephraim to form Bnai Joseph Degel Machne Ephriam in 1926. Finally, there is a Congregation Bnei Joseph Degel Machne Ephraim, aka Sons of Joseph, Flag of the Camp of Ephraim, organized in 1885 and located at 129 Columbia Street that is said to have been formerly on Houston and Lewis Streets but was now in a two-story brick building that was formerly a saloon. The congregation was a consolidation of two societies, namely Chevra Rimanov and Chevra Blazow. The two societies organized in 1885 and merged in 1926. The present name was taken from the names of the Rabbis of each town, Rimonov and Blazoe of Galicia. The 1939 WPA Survey lists this congregation as defunct.
